PARTNER
Location: United States
Established in 1959, Northwood University has a rich history marked by its commitment to providing quality education in the fields of business and management. In a strategic move to adapt its Marketing BBA and Marketing MBA curriculum to the evolving landscape, Northwood University partnered with Digital Marketing Institute in 2022.
As a highly-regarded state institution known for its excellent reputation, the Digital Marketing Institute was enthusiastic about collaborating with Northwood University on the DMI x AMA University Partnership Program. As our inaugural accreditation partnership in Michigan, we sought a partner that is both highly responsive and innovative to work alongside.
The Challenge
In their most recent research, "Closing the Digital Skill Divide," the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the National Skills Coalition reveal that digital skills are now required for an overwhelming 92% of analysed U.S. occupations.
This highlights the stark disparity in digital abilities, which has been further supported by earlier NSC research showing that one-third of workers do not possess the fundamental digital skills needed for modern occupations.
Northwood University recognized that collaborating with DMI x AMA Partnership Program could help them effectively address the digital skills gap, ensuring their graduates are well-prepared for an era dominated by digital advancements.
The Solution
After an extensive and collaborative pre-planning, application, mapping, and validation procedure, Northwood achieved the status of a 'DMI x AMA University Accredited Partner.' This accreditation grants Northwood access to the advantages associated with DMI accreditation, offering various benefits.
When discussing the the value of DMI & AMA Partnership Program Alisha stated, ‘‘The partnership between DMI & American Marketing Association was definitely a selling point because of their reputation and credibility…as we wanted our students to leave not only with the degree but multiple certifications that are valuable in the job market.’’
Northwood faculty and students gained access to ‘DMI Power Membership’ with articles and case studies from the world’s leading brands, and a range of other content including short courses, videos, webinars, tools, templates, and podcasts from some of the foremost subject matter experts in digital marketing.
